Experience

  • 30+ years of expertise in High Voltage Engineering, lightning protection, Pollution, Aging & Multi stress studies on HV Transmission Insulators, Surge arresters, Condition monitoring, Diagnostics and failure analysis of High Voltage equipment.
  • Expertise in Renewable Energy Systems, power electronics, microgrid monitoring systems.
  • Involved in several International and National projects (Indo-UK project on clean energy, 800kV Powergrid project which was executed for the first time).
  • Significant contributions in product development and provides technical consultancy to various Electrical Industries, Utilities in the country and abroad.
  • Established several excellent R & D facilities with Indigenous technology, at the IISc, Bengaluru for research, testing and evaluation of high voltage apparatus.
  • Developed new graduate courses on HV transmission/distribution, substation, Insulation engineering, solar energy systems, regularly conducts several skill training programs for the benefit of unemployed/ self-employed, utilities, industry and engineers working in public sector and defence organization in India.
  • An outstanding researcher with internationally acclaim as an expert in high voltage engineering with high impact research publications and patents.
  • Received several International and National excellence awards and prizes for his R & D activity, for contributions towards Indian Power sector and society.
